Poultry India Expo 2026 Hyderabad: A Feed Miller’s Guide to the Show!

by Dr. Rishabh Chugh / Friday, 02 October 2026 / Published in Uncategorized

Quick answer: The 18th Poultry India Expo happens at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, from 25 to 27 November 2026. A day before that, on 24 November, there’s Knowledge Day at HICC/Novotel in HITEC City. Timings are 10 AM to 6 PM. IPEMA organises it and says around 550 exhibitors and 51,000 visitors from 80 plus countries will be there. If you make or buy poultry feed, you’ll find your suppliers, your customers and half your contacts list in one place that week.

Every year around this time, Hyderabad gets a little crowded with poultry people.

You can’t find a room near HITEC City. The WhatsApp groups go crazy. “Bhai, kab aa rahe ho? Stall number bhejo.” Integrators come with nutritionists in tow; the hatchery guys make a beeline for the incubators and feed mill managers? They somehow get stuck at the pellet mill stalls for an hour. The funny thing is, half the real talk happens outside, over chai, not inside the halls.

We’ve been going for years now. What we’ve learnt is simple. Go with a plan, and you come back with something. Go without one, and you come back with a sore back and forty visiting cards. So here’s what we’d tell a friend in the feed business before they book their tickets.

One thing people miss. Knowledge Day isn’t held at HITEX. Different venue, same area. Stay close to HITEC City if you’re doing both, because Hyderabad traffic at 9 AM will test your patience.

Knowledge Day on 24 November: Is It Worth Arriving Early?

If feed cost or nutrition is your headache, then honestly, yes.

It’s a day of sessions before the show opens. Some talks, some panels, a Young Entrepreneurs Programme, and speakers who fly in from abroad along with Indian experts. Nutrition and health come up a lot. So do automation and sustainability.

Why bother? Because at the stalls, everyone’s in sales mode. At Knowledge Day, people loosen up. You hear what’s actually keeping them awake. Feed bills. Disease. Margins that won’t stretch. Carry that into the halls the next morning, and your conversations will get a lot more useful.

We’d especially push purchase heads to attend, since many of you will be signing raw material contracts for early 2027 soon after. Farm owners thinking about automation will get something out of it too. And young entrepreneurs, well, the coffee breaks alone are worth it.

Why This Year’s Expo Matters for Feed Millers?

Let’s be honest. 2026 has been rough on feed budgets.

Soya DOC stayed expensive pretty much the whole year. It got to a point where Indian prices were higher than what foreign buyers would pay, so exports of soybean meal just stopped. We wrote about how that played out in our post on the soybean meal export halt and its effect on Soya DOC and DDGS prices. Meanwhile, ethanol plants kept buying maize, so grain didn’t get any cheaper either.

No surprise, then, that sustainable nutrition is a focus area this year. Feed people care about it a lot right now.

What we’re seeing on our end is that mills have started trusting other protein sources more. Maize DDGS. Rice DDGS. Gluten from maize and rice. A few years back these were the odd add on. Now we get regular orders from poultry feed plants that used to run almost fully on soya. If you want the numbers, our post on why DDGS keeps showing up in poultry formulations lays it out.

Another change. Buyers don’t just ask for the rate anymore. They ask about consistency. And they should. A slightly wet load here, a protein drop there, and suddenly the integrator is on the phone asking why FCR slipped. It’s almost never one big thing. We’ve written about this in our broiler feed formula guide.

Biosecurity comes into it as well, though most people only think about it at the farm. We’d argue it starts earlier, in the godown. Keep it dry, test for aflatoxin, rotate stock first in first out.

Plus, think about where the show is. Telangana and Andhra are big poultry feed states, and so are Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and West Bengal. Many of the people you need to meet are practically next door.

How to Plan Your Three Days at HITEX?

Nobody sees all 550 stalls. Don’t try. Decide what you need before you land.

DayWhat We’d Do
24 NovKnowledge Day. Pick the nutrition sessions, note names to follow up.
25 NovYour big meetings. Senior people are around and everyone’s still fresh.
26 NovTake your time in the halls. Compare equipment, additives, raw material suppliers.
27 NovBack to the shortlist. Get quotes and spec sheets in writing before the flight home.

Questions Worth Asking Every Raw Material Supplier!

“Premium quality” is printed on every brochure. It doesn’t mean much. A few straight questions will tell you more.

Ask them for a COA from a recent batch. Not the standard spec sheet, an actual batch. Then ask what moisture, protein and aflatoxin they usually get, and how much that changes truck to truck across a season. How many times do they sample before dispatch? What happens to their stock during the monsoon? Which certifications do they have, and can you see them? If you’re planning ahead, check if they’ll commit volumes for Q1 2027 and how the price gets decided.

Someone who answers all this without fumbling and has the papers to show for it is usually a safe bet.

Meet Brinda Foods in Hyderabad!

We’d love to catch up. [CONFIRM: Is Brinda Foods exhibiting or visiting? If exhibiting, add the hall and stall number here, e.g., “Find us at Hall, Stall.” If visiting, change this to “Our team will be at the show all three days. Drop us a line to fix a meeting.”

Dr Rishabh Chugh: Stall II35-II36
Hall 6

We started in 1987, and our job has stayed pretty much the same since. Send the mill material that behaves the same way every single time, so nobody has to keep tweaking the formula.

If poultry protein is on your mind, let’s chat about Soya DOC, Mustard DOC, Maize DDGS, Rice DDGS, Maize Gluten or Rice Gluten. We also do Maize and De-Oiled Rice Bran. Bring your shortlist. We’ll pull up recent COAs, and we can talk about volumes for early next year.

Skipping Hyderabad this time? That’s okay. Send us an enquiry and we’ll mail you current specs and rates.
